Back to School

We are so excited to welcome you to our classroom!  We are going to have a wonderful journey through more recent American History.  This will be a multi-level discussion of the events, themes and people who have influenced our society and who we are still learning from....

CLASSROOM RULES AND EXPECTATIONS
US History
Fall 2015 to Spring 2016

THE RULES
  1. Respect the people, equipment, and the furniture of Room 205
    1. Physical/Verbal attacks, destruction of property, discriminatory language or behavior will not be tolerated.
  2. Arrive on time & be prepared
    1. Arriving on time means that you are in the classroom & working on the daily warm-up at the time class starts.
    2. Please bring lined paper & a pen or a pencil on a daily basis.
  3. Be present & engaged
    1. You are expected to participate in all class, individual, & small group activities.
    2. Cell phones & other personal technology must be put away during class time.*
      1. *Such devices will only be permitted during individual or group activities that require them for research, camera use, & so on.
  4. Follow directions the first time they are given. 

  5. Observe and follow all rules in the BHS Student Handbook outlined in your Planner.

    6. No food or gum.

    7. No bathroom breaks. 


    THE POLICIES
    As a class, it’s important to discuss the following topics to formulate cohesive classroom policies. In groups, you will each be responsible for proposing a policy for one of the topics below. Two groups will be assigned to each topic. The policies will be presented & the class will vote on the policy they believe is fair & suitable for the class.*
    *Ingram/Vozick both have the VETO power! Vote carefully.
    Example: If the topic is technology use, a policy might be, “Technology is permissible during individual or group time for research purposes”.


    The topics to be discussed are:
    1. Late Assignments
    2. Seating Arrangements
    3. Tardiness

  6. CLASSROOM POLICIES/RULES

    PROPOSAL A
    You will have 24 hours to hand in any late assignment and will lost half a grade.If you are one minute late to class you will owe Ms. Ingram and Mr. Vozick 2 minutes after classIf class is interrupted two days in a row, a seating chart will be implemented
    PROPOSAL B
    If you miss 3 assignments you will have to recited the Declaration of Independence to the classIf you do not have a note why you are late the class will stamp your forehead with the note, I AM LATEWe will change tables every 3 weeks and you will have at least 3 new table mates.
